Elemental Psychic

The elemental psychic has a strong connection to nature and receives psychic information through that connection. This is the most sensitive of the psychic types.

The elemental psychic senses energy in its purest forms by connecting directly to the elements. The exercises described below will help you to develop the ability of claircognizance or clear knowing.

The elemental psychic exercise has been broken down into four parts. One for each of the four main elemental types, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

Each type has a different exercise depending on which element you feel the most natural connection with. Many of you will connect strongly with more than one element.

Fire

For this element, you will practice connecting with a candle flame. Place a single candle in front of you and light the wick. Take a few moments to connect to the energy of fire inside of you feeling its heat radiating. Imagine you can form a bond with the candle flame. Spend as long as you need to at this stage feeling and growing your sense of connection with the flame before moving to the next step.

Begin by slowly bringing your hand next to but not touching the flame. Notice if the flame begins to respond to your movements.

When you are very connected, the candle flame will dance with you. You may even play with causing the flame to brighten or dim with your energy. Everything is based on the depth of your connection. Donโ€™t forget to continue to breathe slowly and calmly.

Water

For this element, you will practice connecting with a glass of ice water. Place several ice cubes in a clear glass of water in front of you. Take a moment to connect to the energy of water inside of you feeling its coolness and flow. Imagine the water in the glass is an extension of the water in your body. Feel gratitude for the water inside and around you. Feel the flow. Spend as long as you need to at this stage feeling and growing your sense of connection with the water before moving to the next step.

When you feel very connected to the water in the glass, begin to move your energy in a gentle circle. You can sway your body gently but it is not necessary to move physically at all in order to move the energy. When you are very connected the water in the glass will also begin to move. The ice is there to better show this movement. Movement may be extremely subtle at first.

You can also try a similar practice in the bathtub. Simply connect to the water around you and feel the energy in your palm radiating out into the water. When you are very connected you may see and feel small ripples coming from your hand. Donโ€™t forget to continue to breathe slowly and calmly.

Wind

For this element, you will practice connecting with the element of air to influence the movement of smoke from a stick of incense. Lite and place an incense stick in an incense holder in front of you. The smoke will naturally billow and sway with the subtle air currents in the room. Spend a few moments connecting with the energy of air within you feeling its movement and lightness. Imagine the air around you is an extension of the air within you. Notice the movement of the smoke as if it were the movement of your own body. Spend as long as you need to at this stage feeling and growing your sense of connection with the smoke before moving to the next step.

When you feel very connected, begin to direct the smoke upwards with your intention. imagine the stream of smoke becoming very steady. When you are very calm and focused the smoke with rise straight up in a single stream. Donโ€™t forget to continue to breathe slowly and calmly.

Earth

For this element, you will need a smooth stone or crystal. Spend a few moments connecting to the energy of earth within you feeling its warmth and density. lay your palm flat facing upwards and place the stone at the tips of your fingers. Feel the energy of the stone as if it were an extension of your own body. Spend as long as you need to at this stage feeling and growing your sense of connection with the stone before moving to the next step.

Use the energy in your other palm to gently push the stone off of your fingers without touching the stone. The stone and your hands should feel as if they are made of the same material. The palm lying face up with the stone does not move.

When you are very connected, the stone will easily roll off of your fingers. You may even play with rocking the stone back and forth with the energy in your opposite palm. Donโ€™t forget to continue to breathe slowly and calmly.
